JITO NASHIK - TRADE & INVESTMENT AWARENESS PROGRAM


To boost the trade and investment between the two countries, JITO Nashik and JITO Jalgaon in association with Nahar JBN a delegation led by Mr. Milind Shah (Secretary JITO Apex), Mr. Satish Hiran (Secretary JITO Nashik), Mr Pramod Sancheti (FCP JITO), Mr. Hemant Kothari (Chairman JITO Jalgaon) & Chirag Lunkad (Project Co-ordinator for Ethiopia Visit) visited Ethiopia from 22nd to 25th October. On 22nd Oct the delegate visited ADP Flexipack Manufacturing PLC at Legatafo (Event 1) which is a unit of Mr Pramod Sancheti Founder Chief Patron member of Jalgaon Chapter who played a key role in the whole business trip. ADP Flexipack is into manufacturing a diverse range of plastic bottles, caps and jars and PET preforms On 23rd Oct the delegates visited Bole-Lami Industrial Park (Event 2) set up by Government of Ethiopia having world class sustainable eco parks ready for “Plug and Play” dedicated for specific sectors such as textile and apparel, Pharmaceuticals, Agro Processing, etc. located along key economic corridors and connected to ports. Visit to National Palace was the highlight of the visit where the delegation met His Excellency Hon’ Mr Mulatu Teshome, President of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. He welcomed all delegates and understood the requirements of business and agreed upon offering every help for setting up business there. He also emphasized on strengthening the bilateral ties between two countries in the area of Investment, Trade and Capacity building. He highlighted Indian investors to invest in priority sectors such as Textile and Garment, Renewable Energy, Pharmaceuticals and Agro-Processing. The day was followed by the Cultural show. On 24th Oct, the Ethio-Indian Economic Forum which aimed at boosting trade and investment ties between the two countries opened in Addis Ababa, at Dreamliner Hotel. The forum which was co-organized by Ethiopian Consulate General office in Mumbai and Ethiopian Investment Commission (EIC) and Jain International Trade Organization (JITO). Opening the forum, Director General of Business Diplomacy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr Mesfin G / Mariam noted that Ethiopia and India have longstanding diplomatic relations which he said, dated back to 1950. Commending the Ethiopian Consul General in Mumbai for the facilitation of the visit of JITO to Ethiopia, Chief Secretary of Nashik Chapter Mr Satish Hiran added that the forum is a viable platform to enhance the trade and investment ties between the two countries. After the City tour, the delegates were invited to the Embassy of India, and had Interaction with Indian Embassy (His Excellency Mr Anurag Srivastava Ambassador of India to Ethiopia, Djibouti and African Union) and Indian Business Forum (IBF). Mr Milind Shah addressed the audience about JITO and its core objectives. IBF (Indian Business Forum) gave a presentation about opportunities and challenges of doing business in Ethiopia. The highlight of the event was Q&A session where delegation had the opportunity to get answers they were seeking throughout. On 25th Oct, the B2B meeting of JITO Delegate with the member of ECCSA – Ethiopian Chamber of Commerce & Sectorial Association. The meet was a grand success as more than 70 businessmen and industrialist from Ethiopia attended the meet which was conducted in JBN format. In addition, our delegates got the opportunity to showcase their samples of products and services. Due to the meet, lots of leads were generated which will help us to generate business in future.
