“JITO Connect-2014” (Annual Conference of JITO) was held on 22nd& 23rd March, 2014 at Bengaluru and was well attended by more than 5,000 delegates from all over the country.
The Conference was inaugurated by iconic Industrialist Shri Anil Agarwal, Chairman-Vedanta Group and other Indian Luminaries viz. Shri NandanNilekani, Shri Satya Narayan Jatia-Rajya Sabha Member &Ex.Central Minister, Shri ChetanBhagat, Shri Santosh Nair - Management Guru, Shri VallabhBhanshali, Shri G. S. Singhvi-Retd. Judge of Supreme Court, Shri D. R. Mehta-Retd. SEBI Chief, Shri Harish Bijoor-famous brand strategist, et-al.
The main emphasis of this Annual Conference was Economic Empowerment(being one of the primary objects) of Jain International Trade Organisation(JITO). Accordingly, JITO first Hostel at Bengaluru was inaugurated which shall accommodate 150 students. This is one of the 14 Hostels which are on the anvil.
Besides, JITO received overwhelming commitment of 8 more JATF Patrons each contributing Rs.1.50 Crores which will help in training more and more Civil servants as also training and preparing IIT & IIM students is also on the horizon.
This way through Economic Empowerment, JITO shall also impart knowledge thus, rendering service to the Society.
Another highlight was the release of “Coffee Table Book” containing 42 profiles of significant philanthropic and charitable initiatives of Individuals, Trusts & Institutions impacting large magnitude of our populous in the fields of health, hunger, education, water, poverty alleviation, sanitation etc. This initiative will not only bring such philanthropic acts in the public domain but also motivate others.
On the sideline of the Conference, our Chairman Shri Narendrakumar A. Baldota also indicated the possibility of creating a Jain Bank to financially aid budding entrepreneurs predominantly within the community.
Other highlights of the Conference were National Launch of JIWO (JITO’s Ladies Wing), Launch of JIYO (JITO’s Youth Wing) B2B Seminar, discussion on JITO’s Vision, Jain Conclave besides appreciating and awarding best performing Chapters under different categories.
