JITO Ahmedabad organized 8th Consecutive Mahavir Janma Kalyanak Rath yatra this year on 29th March. All the four firkas of Jain community participated whole heartedly in this historical event. The highlights of this Rath yatra were 1) 700kg Pure Silver Rath of Prabhu of more than 100 years old was specially brought from Rajasthan. 2)Total 5 Rath’s of Prabhu Mahavir Swami 3) Different attractions included Tabloids displaying the life of Lord Mahavir, 5 Dance Troops, 5 Music Bands, 10 Chariots, 3 Elephants, 20 Horses, Camel Carts etc. 4) The total route of Rath yatra was around 4.5 kms. 5) More than 12,000 people participated in the Yatra from beginning till end. 6) Around 50,000 people came for Darshan on roads. 7) The yatra was followed by Swamivatsalya of around 7,000 people. The Rathyatra was flagged off by Hon. Revenue Minister of Gujarat Shri Kaushikbhai Patel, Shri Gautambhai Shah - Mayor AMC with Shri Rakeshbhai Shah - Dharasabhya, Shri Samvegbhai Lalbhai of Arvind Group, Shri Ganpatbhai Chowdhary, Shri Hemantbhai Shah, Shri Prakashbhai Sanghvi – Chairman JITO Ahmedabad, Shri Pravinbhai Maniar – Chairman Rathyatra Committee, Shri Jigishbhai Doshi, Shri Kushalraj Bhansali, Shri Bhadreshbhai Shah with other esteemed board members of JITO Ahmedabad.
